Manhattan is an island in the center of New York City. Manhattan is one of five boroughs in NYC, the other four being Brooklyn, the Bronx, Queens, and Staten Island.

In 1994, Manhattan became the home to the fledgling Manhattan Clan when David Xanatos brought the surviving members of the Wyvern Massacre from Wyvern Hill to the top of the Eyrie Building. In 1996, the Hunters blew up the clock tower over the 23rd Precinct, forcibly revealing the existence of gargoyles to the world at large.
